This course traces the evolution of the world from antiquity (5000 B.C.E.) to present day with a cultured-centered view of both humanity and the environment and how the two have interacted throughout history. The emphasis in the course will be on how human cultures have searched throughout their history to strike a balance between constructive and destructive exploitation of their environments.

 

Prerequisites: POLS 155, HIST 101, and HIST 102 or equivalent with a grade of “C” or better.
