Certificate in Strategic Management at the graduate level is a one-year program designed to help prepare students for dealing with a world of business and industry that is constantly changing and evolving. With its emphasis on providing a solid academic and theoretical business foundation combined with modern management skills, the program is structured to ensure its students acquire an in-depth understanding of strategic management. A total of seven courses build strong foundation skills in core subject areas and develop analytical, critical, and creative thinking. Elective courses guide students into several functional areas of management that complement the study of strategic management.
To receive the Certificate in Strategic Management from Southern States University, students must successfully complete the five (5) required core courses and two (2) electives for a total of 27 credit hours which is equivalent to 270 contact hours. Students must complete the requirements within a five (5) quarter period.
Upon completion of the program, graduates will be able to:
- Apply critical thinking skills in evaluating information so as to make informed, ethical business decisions.
- Assist in the development of a strategic plan.
- Employ knowledge of the various business and management components and constructs, strategic initiatives, and leadership principles currently used in today’s business environments.
- Have the skills necessary to help advance their career opportunities towards a management level position upon completion of the program.
