How do I log in to Moodle?

To access the online classroom, go to either of the following addresses:

To access Moodle, you will need a username and password. Your username is the first initial of your first name, and your full last name – if you have used Moodle at SSU before, you should already have a password. If you are a new student at SSU and have not received your Moodle username and password, please send an email to:  support@ssu.edu

You will be prompted to change your default password when you log onto Moodle for the first time. Please change it to something familiar, or something that you can easily memorize. If you cannot log in to Moodle, please send an email to: support@ssu.edu

How do I find my class(es)?

Classes are location specific – if you are attending class in San Diego, then please click on your courses labeled “San Diego Campus”, “Irvine Campus”or “Online”

How do I add or drop myself from a course?

Please contact your Academic Advisor.

 

How do I update my profile?

Once logged in on Moodle, on the left hand side of the page, under Administration, click on the link “Profile”, then click on the tab titled “Edit Profile”. You will be able to update the following information that is listed under your profile:

• Forum Formatting (it is recommended that you maintain the default settings)
• Picture – please use a JPEG or GIF format. This will be seen by other students and faculty at Southern States University. Please choose a picture that is appropriate and non-offensive.
• Social Networking Information

How do I participate in the online forums?

After opening your course of interest, you will see various resources and activities that have been uploaded by the instructor. To participate in the forum sessions, you will need to click on of these two options:

1. Add a new discussion topic.
2. Reply. This option will be available after the initial thread has been posted.

How do I contact other course users?

To view other users in your course, please click on the Participants link (in the upper left hand side of the screen). You can click on the individual you are trying to contact, and send them a message through Moodle.
