Greetings to our SSU Community, Families and Future Students,
I am very delighted to be serving as Chancellor at the University. Both being humbled and honored, my commitment is to follow a path of progress and sustainability for the University. Having spent the last decade at Southern States University, from being Adjunct Faculty member to being the recent Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs/Chief Academic Officer, I have learned that the most important value that someone can bring to an institution of higher education is the commitment towards student learning and student success.
I’m grateful to be working with a cadre of strong faculty and staff that devote each each moment to our students. I will continue on that path of bringing innovative ways for teaching our students and offering programs that meet the needs of today’s workforce. I am also committed to faculty governance and to meeting the administrative needs of an evolving institution.
Having a multicultural upbringing with humble beginnings, I understand the needs of today’s students. At Southern States University, students, faculty, and staff can find a place in which diversity, ideas, and values are shared, respected, and promoted. I am committed to improving opportunities for students from all backgrounds.
I invite prospective students to explore our programs. Our student-centered approach and our commitment towards student success allow students to form long-lasting relationships with our faculty and the SSU community. Our faculty members come from a diverse set of backgrounds with several of them holding key leadership positions as practitioners in their own fields.
Many of our alumni have achieved great success in their careers and personal lives. Other alumni have pursued additional education from a second bachelor’s or master’s degree to a doctorate program.
